Drawdown (Maximum Loss)
Different programs use different drawdown models, so it is important to know which one applies to your account.
- Static Drawdown (1-Step, 2-Step, Phoenix): a fixed loss limit calculated from your starting balance that never changes, even as the account grows. Example: on a $100,000 account with a 10% limit, the lowest allowed equity stays at $90,000 — a breach occurs if equity drops below it.
- Trailing Drawdown (Instant Funding): a dynamic 10% limit that follows your account’s highest equity as it grows, then stops trailing once it reaches the starting balance. A breach occurs if equity drops below the active trailing level.
Daily Permitted Loss
- Basis: calculated on your Balance or Equity, whichever is higher, at the daily snapshot.
- Rollover: resets every day at 10 PM UTC; trading during the rollover window is not recommended (wider spreads, higher volatility).
- Breach: occurs if your Equity falls below the calculated Breach Level. Example: a $100,000 account with a 4% daily loss gives a Breach Level around $96,000–$97,000 depending on the snapshot.
- Tip: always monitor Equity, not just Balance, when holding trades over rollover.
Consistency Rule (Instant Funding only)
- Limit: no single trading day may exceed the allowed percentage of your total profit (e.g. 20%).
- Example: with $10,000 total profit and a 20% rule, your best single day must not exceed $2,000.
- If exceeded: it is not a fail — keep trading to rebalance the consistency percentage before you can pass or request a payout.
- Reset: the rule resets after each payout on funded accounts.
Profitable Days
- Definition: a day with net closed profit of at least 0.5% of the initial balance (e.g. $500 on a $100,000 account, $50 on a $10,000 account).
- Requirement: accumulate the required number of qualifying days (commonly 3). They do not need to be consecutive, and losing days in between do not matter.
Prohibited Trading Methods
- Grid trading / hedging using opposing orders designed to neutralise risk.
- Latency arbitrage and any exploitation of the simulated data feed.
- Account sharing or transferring/selling funded accounts.
- News trading — not permitted on evaluation or funded accounts (see the News Trading Policy).
- Third-party, commercial EAs and signal services. EAs are allowed only as a trader’s own custom tool or a copier between the trader’s own accounts, and are not allowed in the Sprint Challenge.
- Copy trading only between accounts owned by the same individual.
Moneta Funded reviews trading behaviour and may adjust profits or breach accounts that use prohibited strategies inconsistent with genuine, risk-managed market participation.
